Biography
Florian Pichlbauer was born in Graz in August 1998. He started playing piano at the age of six and began his musical education first privately with Mag. Barbara Stranegger and at the J.J. Fux Conservatory Graz with Mag. Angelika Ferra. At 16 years old he started studying piano at University for Music and Performing Arts with Prof. Zoltan Füzessery and later with Prof. Libor Novacek. He is currently studying with Prof. Ruben Dalibaltayan.

Pichlbauer won several prizes at the "Prima la Musica" competition in Austria and was awarded the first prize at the international Bela Bartok competition in Graz in November 2017. In March 2022, he won the 3rd prize at the Mladi Virtuozi competition in Zagreb. In Summer 2024 Pichlbauer received the ‘Outstanding Lieder Collaborative Pianist Award’ at AIMS Graz for his exceptional performances with highly talented singers from across the world. He has given concerts in many cities across Europe, including Vienna, Prague, Tscheljabinsk, Veszprém, Ljubljana and Nice. 

In addition to performing on the piano, Pichlbauer is also active as a composer; his compositions are written in neo-romantic style and remain faithful to the harmonic laws of the romantic era. In June 2020 he published a fantasy piece for cello and piano, followed in 2022 by a fantasy for piano in E minor, which was published by Universal Edition.

Besides his classical self, Pichlbauer is known as Singer/Songwriter ‘Löbe’; in march this year he released his first single ‘Happy Now’, his debut EP will be out in Autumn this year.
