Biography
Florian Pichlbauer was born in Graz in August 1998. He started playing the piano at the age of six and began his first musical education privately with Mag. Barbara Stranegger and at the J.J. Fux Conservatory Graz with Mag. Angelika Ferra. He continued his studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz with Prof. Zoltan Füzessery, Prof. Libor Novacek and Prof. Eike Straub and at the Academy of Music of the University of Ljubljana with Prof. Ruben Dalibaltayan.

Pichlbauer won several prizes at the "Prima la Musica" competition in Austria and was awarded the first prize at the 2017 international Bela Bartok competition. In summer 2024, AIMS Graz recognised his remarkable performances as lied accompanist with the ‘Outstanding Lieder Collaborative Pianist Award’.

In addition to performing on the piano, Pichlbauer is also active as a composer, represented by the renowned Viennese publisher Universal Edition and the Viennese label Supreme Music. He has worked as a composer for major theatre productions at the Burgtheater Vienna and La Colline Theatre National Paris and is often collaborating with Amos Gitai, a famous Israeli filmmaker and director. Besides his classical self, Pichlbauer is known as Singer/Songwriter Löbe.
